Frequently Asked Questions
The following questions come from Mary Aspinwall’s popular document, “How to Find a Homeopath.”

1. Tell me about your training.
I studied classical homeopathy at the Academy of Homeopathy Education and completed over 1000 hours of synchronous didactic and clinical training as part of their full-time program. In addition, my clinical supervisor was Sarah Weis, PCH, CCH, from 2019-2020. I worked with fifty clients under her tutelage, refining my intake, analysis, and case management skills for both chronic and acute complaints. Each year, to maintain my board certification and now licensure, I am required to participate in a minimum of fifteen hours of continuing education and typically exceed this.
In addition, I am a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the Integrative Health Practitioner Institute, as well as the MBCE Functional Blood Chemistry program, and have taken courses to continue to deepen my wellness counseling skillset through Cornell University.
I am currently enrolled in the Innate Body Academy Embodied Intelligence Apprenticeship (2024-2025 cohort) and the Dynamis School for Advanced Homeopathic Studies postgraduate course.
Separately, I am a 2003 graduate of Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music and, over the years, have done a variety of in-person training in birth work, western herbalism, and nutrition. You can see a holistic education timeline on my “about” page.
2. How long have you been practicing?
I began working with clients under supervision in April of 2019, and received my board certification in October of 2020 and the newly available AZ licensure in November 2024. To date, I have worked with hundreds of clients, and the majority of my current client base has been with me for two to five years.
3. What do you charge for the first three sessions? How long is each session? What is included in each session?
My fee is $350 for the initial intake, which lasts ninety minutes to two hours. For infants and toddlers, I offer a reduced fee of $295, as there is typically less to cover. After the intake, I will spend, on average, an additional five hours on the case analysis.
My routine visit fee is $125. These last approximately thirty to sixty minutes. The first two follow-ups occur monthly. As you heal, it is common to space out these visits even further. During a routine visit, we review the status of all of your original symptoms and any changes or new symptoms that you have noticed. I will regularly re-work your case to ensure that your remedy is still the best fit and determine a new remedy if not.
4. Are remedies included? If not, what should I budget for those? Are remedies available to purchase from you? If not, where do you recommend I purchase them?
Remedies are not included in my fee, as I do not run a homeopathic pharmacy. I do have a small dispensary, so occasionally, if a remedy is difficult to access or for those that live locally, I will provide remedies for a small fee. For certain remedies, I will need to call in or place the order for you, either from Hahnemann Labs or the Center for Applied Homeopathy.
Remedy cost varies based on the preparation and potency, but a large supply can be acquired for $12-30.
For most remedies, I recommend purchasing from:
Hahnemann Labs
Helios Pharmacy
5. Do you offer a payment plan to spread out the costs?
If you are dealing with financial hardship, I do offer the option of a payment plan. I also hold a limited number of spaces for lower-cost and pro bono care. If you are in need of this accommodation and I do not have space in my practice, I am happy to refer you to a well-regarded teaching clinic or to a student under supervision who charges a lower fee.
6. How available are you between booked consultations for support?
I make time each day for communication and admin work. If anything comes up between visits, please, always reach out via your client portal or call and leave a voicemail. Depending on what time of day you send your message and the urgency of the issue, I will get back to you in 12-48 hours (often sooner!). I note this range because triage is essential during busy acute seasons. If you don’t hear back from me in 48 hours, assume there has been a glitch, or the fallibility of my human condition has emerged, and reach out again!
7. Do you take long breaks or vacations, and if so, what arrangement is in place to cover your absence? (i.e., another homeopath as a substitute, etc.)
I rarely take extended breaks or vacations, though work/life balance has become a larger priority over the last few years. If I plan an extended trip, I will enlist the support of a locum to cover my practice. In the day-to-day, I ask that you respect that I am not able to be on call 24/7, and I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
8. Do you want me to check in with you before treating acute issues, such as a cold or an injury? Are those check-ins included in the cost while under constitutional care? If not, how much do you charge for each check-in?
Yes, please! Communication is so important.
If the acute remedy is very clear to you, please let me know the situation, remedy name, potency, repetition/number of doses, and when you give the final dose via your client portal so that I can add it to your (or your family member’s) chart. I may make suggestions if something stands out or if there is a risk that it might interfere with chronic care. In these instances, there is no fee.
For more serious acutes (i.e., Flu, RSV, COVID, etc.), it is important that we connect via phone or video to review all symptoms. These calls take 15-30 minutes, and I then do an acute analysis and make a remedy and dosing recommendation. My fee for current clients is $75 for the intake, analysis, and 48 hours of follow-up care. If this is an extended acute, a daily fee of $35 beginning on day three allows for ongoing communication, analysis, and recommendations through the stages of illness.
NOTE: To allow for a more sustainable practice, there will now be a $30 surcharge for serious acute services that occur outside of office hours (before 9 am, after 5 pm, and on weekends and holidays). Thanks so much for understanding!
9. Do you have another homeopath you can brainstorm ideas with when you get stuck?
Absolutely. When a case isn’t responding as expected, best practice dictates that I reach out to a colleague or mentor for a set of fresh eyes and perspective.
Identifying details are always kept confidential.
10. Will you tell me the name and potency of the remedy you chose, why you selected it, and what results you hope to see?
I will always share the remedy name and potency that I recommend, as well as options for ordering/purchasing and how to dose, track changes, and the expectations for follow-up. As a busy practitioner, I have limited time to explain my analysis process, but if you have specific questions or concerns, please ask. I always request that my clients keep a journal (just a few words each day) of any changes they notice between our visits. As my mentors always said - “Healing is forgetting!” - and this helps us to remember and track changes.
Healing is also non-linear, and our bodies don’t always heal in the ways or order we expect - so, while I can give suggestions on what to watch for, I can never say, “This is exactly how it will go.” Alas, it just doesn’t work that way!
11. Do you have any published articles that I can read?
Despite my background as a writer, I’ve been so busy seeing clients these last five + years, especially with a global pandemic in the mix, that I have not published any articles. Thanks for the reminder that I should work on that!
12. Are there any testimonials from your other patients that I may read?
There are! Please head back to to my landing page to see what some clients have shared.
13. Are you open to my suggestions, intuition, and input?
I feel that answering this question requires a fair bit of nuance. I’ll start by saying that there is a reason that most professional homeopaths avoid treating themselves, family members, or even close friends. The closer you are to a situation, the harder it is to remain objective.
That said, intuition is a beautiful thing. As a naturally intuitive person with specific training to further this skill set, I deeply respect this aspect of our humanity. Yet, it is only one tool in the toolbox, especially regarding homeopathic prescribing. I have extensive training in homeopathic history, philosophy, materia medica, therapeutics, and analysis, as well as anatomy, physiology, pathology, and the art of case-taking. It is the sum of these parts that allows me to offer a high level of care to each of my clients.
When we enter into a therapeutic relationship, there must be a level of mutual trust for it to work. The homeopathic interview is a time for you to share everything that feels important about your case and when I have the opportunity to ask clarifying questions. If you forget something during our consultations, you are always welcome to reach out via the client portal so that I can factor that into the analysis.
14. If your client is under the care of another practitioner at the same time (such as biomed, craniosacral, chiropractor, pharmaceuticals, etc.), do they need to stop other interventions while taking homeopathy? Why or why not?
Most of my clients utilize multiple modalities, which are often synergistic. If you have been seeing another practitioner for an extended period, I have largely not encountered issues with adding homeopathy to the mix and being able to assess remedy action. The most important part is that you let me know what other modalities you’re using so that we can review the benefits and changes you’ve seen so that I have a complete understanding of your case. With pharmaceutical intervention, this approach also allows me to study the medicine and understand potential side effects.
If you are thinking about adding a new modality to your care, I ask that you wait until we have established traction with a chronic remedy before introducing anything, if at all possible. This allows for a better understanding of your body’s response to the remedy vs. something else that you’re doing.
15. What experience have you had working with complex cases?
Many, if not most, of my clients present with complex, layered pathology. I’m happy to discuss this further relative to your unique situation.
16. Have you ever worked with ___________ condition? What results did you have?
I have a substantial list of named conditions and situations I’ve worked with successfully over the years. You can view a list here. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out - if I cannot help, I’m always happy to provide a referral.
17. May I email you if I have concerns? In what amount of time, or what day(s), should I expect your reply? Is there a fee for email communication?
Each of my clients has access to a HIPAA-compliant client portal where you can send me a message anytime. Depending on when you send your message, I typically reply within a day if it is a weekday. Response times are a bit longer outside of business hours, on weekends, holidays, or during busy acute seasons. If you don’t hear back from me in 48 hours, there has likely been a glitch in the matrix, so please ping me again!
As for a fee, if your email requires significant time and energy to understand and seems to indicate a need for re-analysis, I will ask that we schedule a formal visit for which standard fees apply. If there is mutual agreement that your email is the equivalent of a follow-up visit and enough for me to re-analyze and make a new remedy recommendation, standard fees for a routine visit also apply.
18. Do you offer telephone and/or video consultations? What is your fee for this option? What days/times are available for this type of consultation?
All consultations are currently being offered via Zoom or phone, with occasional exceptions for local clients. Standard fees apply. Online booking is available for all services.
19. What role does your faith play in your practice of homeopathy?
Short answer? It doesn’t. As a homeopath and wellness counselor, I provide healthcare and take my role as an unbiased observer responsible for unconditional presence very seriously. Bringing faith into this dynamic in a therapeutic relationship, for me, would be unethical and jeopardize the quality of care.
20. If you are classically trained, what are your thoughts on complex/practical/protocol homeopathy?
While protocols can, at times, offer relief, I have seen many cases compromised by the use of too many remedies repeated too frequently. Yes, homeopathy is inherently safe, but remedies are powerful, and our bodies can get overwhelmed when they receive too many different messages too often. That said, there are unique cases when I utilize intercurrent prescribing in chronic care, as well as protocols after serious injury, dental work, or surgery.
